For our resident guests

One hour at the Zen Garden Spa is offered per night of your stay: heated pool, sauna, hammam, Nordic baths. You book your time slots on site or from your stay page.

One extra hour €20 per person

Families: children aged 3 to 11 enjoy the spa during family hours — 8 to 10 am, 7 to 9 pm, and all day on Wednesdays — with an adult. The rest of the time, the spa is reserved for adults and teens.

Zen Garden

At the heart of the estate, the Zen Garden welcomes you for a relaxing interlude in a lush garden — pools, Nordic bath, sauna, hammam and troglodyte rooms follow one another along the way.

A Mediterranean green haven

Designed as a Mediterranean garden, the Zen Garden unfolds around century-old trees and rare species. The paths wind between the pools, the troglodyte caves and the treatment areas.

A true green journey to slow down before entering the ritual.

Welcome & herbal-tea lounge

First breath, first ritual

The experience begins with the herbal-tea welcome and the changing rooms. A calm threshold where you leave the outside noise behind: herbal teas brewed on site, robes and slippers ready, lockers and private showers.

Indoor pool & sauna

All year round, under cover

The heated indoor pool, open all year round. A calm space between garden and stone, where natural light filters gently through the high openings.

Next to it, the dry-heat Finnish sauna, for detoxification and a return to silence.

Outdoor pool

From 1 May to 30 September

From 1 May to 30 September, the heated outdoor pool opens onto the garden for laps in the open air. Loungers in the shade of the trees, an unobstructed view over the estate.

Nordic bath

Warmth of wood, open sky

Under a wooden shelter, the heated outdoor Nordic bath. A sharp, soothing contrast that boosts circulation and invites contemplation.

Heated all year round — the experience is even more striking in winter.

Troglodyte hammam

Carved into the tuffeau stone

Carved into the rock, the troglodyte hammam borrows the coolness and acoustics of the tuffeau vaults. Steam, eucalyptus, and the slow tempo of stone.

Beneath a historic vaulted cellar of the Château, the Spa Côté Loire welcomes you for a one-hour interlude, out of time.

A 10-metre heated swimming lane facing the triptych Aqua Vitae In Profundis by Axelle Borealis, in dialogue with a sound identity created by Erik Eide — a one-hour ambient composition that follows the rhythm of your swim.

On the terrace, a Nordic bath with a view over the Loire.

Une expérience magnifique dans ce spa avec piscine extérieure, hammam, sauna, jacuzzi et piscine troglo, et vue sur la Loire,tout invite à la détente. Le parcours dans les bois avec le street art continue parfaitement cette journée bien-être.

The spa at a glance

Can I come to the spa without staying at the château?

Yes. The Zen Garden spa welcomes visitors every day from 10 am to 7 pm, by online reservation and subject to availability. On Fridays and Saturdays from 4 pm, priority goes to guests staying at the château. The entrance is at 11 rue Trochet.

Is the spa included in the stay?

Yes. One hour at the Zen Garden spa is included with each night of your stay: heated pool, sauna, hammam and Nordic baths, in a booked time slot. Our guests have unlimited access to the Street Art Parc.

What does the spa include?

The Zen Garden brings together a heated indoor pool, a Finnish sauna, a troglodyte hammam carved into the tufa stone, a Nordic bath and, from 1 May to 30 September, a heated outdoor pool. There is also the Spa Côté Loire, in a vaulted cellar of the château, and two troglodyte massage rooms.

Can children use the spa?

Yes. Children aged 3 to 11 enjoy the Zen Garden spa during family sessions: 8 to 10 am, 7 to 9 pm, and all day on Wednesdays, with an adult. Teenagers (12 to 17) have access at the usual times.

Can I book a massage?

Yes, online, with your stay or separately. Treatments are given from 10 am to 7 pm, in a solo or duo room.

How do I get to Château de Candes from Paris or Tours?

Candes-Saint-Martin lies between Saumur (20 minutes) and Chinon (25 minutes), 1 hour from Tours and Angers and about 3 hours’ drive from Paris. By train: TGV from Paris to Tours (Saint-Pierre-des-Corps) in about 1 hour, then a regional train to Port-Boulet station, 10 minutes from the château.
